A print and digital news capstone class for graduating seniors at the University of Missouri School of Journalism is working on a video project with two Indiana newspapers.
Students will be working with the Elkhart Truth and the Rochester Sentinel on creating professional development materials for small- to mid-size newspapers.
The class will create video tutorials on improving reader engagement, understanding audiences (analytics), creating and delivering content across platforms, developing niche publications, effective social media strategies and more. The course requires the videos to have real-world application.
Students will spend this semester creating the videos based on the needs and interests of newspapers.
The Hoosier State Press Association will have the opportunity to make the resources available for other member publications.
