Comptroller with paper 53 years

After 53 years with the Times-Union (Warsaw), Dennis Plummer is retiring as comptroller.

Plum­mer started at the newspaper Sept. 1, 1962.

He graduated from Atwood High School in 1959 and then went on to International Business College in Fort Wayne, earning his associate’s degree in accounting.

In 1963 through 1969, he was a member of the Indiana Army National Guard out of Warsaw.

Plummer and his wife, Sherrill, were married on March 17, 1963, and she died in 2008. They have two daughters, MaryBeth Garcia and Nancy Joan Boucher, and three grandchildren.

In retirement Plummer plans to go see the Chicago Cubs play in the World Series.
