A new circulation director has joined the Tribune-Star (Terre Haute).
Jim Girdler, a 16-year veteran of the newspaper industry, has been with parent company Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. for eight years.
He comes to Terre Haute from Somerset, Ky., where he was circulation manager at the Commonwealth Journal since February 2005.
He was district manager for the Herald Leader in Lexington, Ky., from 1997 to 2005. Before that he served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Girdler said he wants to make an immediate impact on customer service.
He and his wife, who has family in the Wabash Valley, have two sons and a daughter.
