THE ELKHART TRUTH is seeking a qualified news editor to coordinate the Elkhart Truth’s news package across multi-media platforms by focusing on community journalism. Candidate should be experienced in reporting and editing, with the demonstrated ability to lead by example and the skills to mentor beginning writers. The ability to see beyond the headlines and find stories that resonate with our readers is a must.
Along with producing stories, day-to-day responsibilities will include setting story/photo assignments, working closely with news staffers on content, and deadline and non-deadline editing. A working knowledge of print page structure and design is a plus.Some weekends and holidays may be required.
Applicants for this salary-based positon will be weighed by experience. The Truth is part of the Paxton Media Group, which owns newspaper and television entities across Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky and North Carolina.

The Herald Journal, a growing six-day daily newspaper in central Indiana, seeks a motivated, energetic and ambitious community reporter to cover town meetings, local businesses and events throughout the communities in the surrounding area.
