Hoosier Media Group has purchased the Benton Review (Fowler).
The acquisition is the first Indiana newspaper buy for the group, said Don L. Hurd, president and chief executive officer.
“The Benton Review is situated in a growing market,” Hurd said. “Its circulation has held steady the past few years, and it’s one of the largest weekly newspapers in Indiana.”
The paper, established in 1875, has a long history of serving the residents of Benton County, he said.
The McConnell and Moyars families who once owned the newspaper did an excellent job of maintaining that tradition of journalistic service, he said.
