Steve- I have a legal notice to publish for one of our Harrison County school districts. It is a ‘Notice for Bids’ and they are requesting 5 consecutive run dates (3/16/11 – 4/13/11). I have searched unsuccessfully for a formula – how do I calculate the additional week and/or what would be the government rate for a 5 wk legal notice? Thanks for your time -Kathy Robson.
Five consecutive run dates are unusual. The Public Notice Advertising Law allows newspapers to increase the price by 50 percent of the one-time run price for each additional run date.
1 insertion – $5.69
2 insertions – $8.51
3 insertions – $11.36
4 insertions – $14.20
The rate for five insertions would be $17.04, according to Steve Key, HSPA executive director and general counsel.
