The parent company that owns The Paper of Montgomery County (Crawfordsville) has announced that it will begin doing business as Sagamore News Media.
The Paper is not changing names, said Sagamore Board of Directors Chairman Phil Boots.
“Ever since we bought The Times (Noblesville), we have talked about creating a name more appropriate for multiple newspapers,” said Boots, who also serves as an Indiana state senator for District 23.
The company previously operated as The Paper of Montgomery County Inc.
“Our company began with The Paper in 2004. Since then we have grown and acquired The Weekly of West-Central Indiana and The Times,” he said. “A name that better reflects the three newspapers seemed in order.”
The new overall name came about through a contest with company employees.
