Greg Burney, Princeton Publishing Inc.’s new publisher, started with the newspaper Jan. 27.

Burney comes to Princeton most recently from Marion, Ill., where he served as publisher of two weekly newspapers and regional classified advertising director for the two weeklies and for five daily newspapers.

His experience also includes work as an advertising director with Gannett Co. in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan, as well as work in sales and operations for JLB Media Group Inc. in Indianapolis and Denver, Colo.

“We are excited to have Greg join the Princeton Clarion management team as publisher,” said Bill Brehm Jr., president of the newspaper’s parent company, Brehm Communications Inc.

“Greg brings a wealth of experience in managing community newspapers and shoppers and believes in being involved in the community we serve,” Brehm said. “He brings a strong background in advertising sales that should benefit the customers of The Daily Clarion.”

A native of Ohio, Burney has a bachelor’s degree in business management.

He and his wife’s family includes sons Jacob, Christian and Mike and daughter Brittinae. They have 12 grandchildren.
