The News and Tribune (Jeffersonville) hired two new staff members in its newsroom.
Elizabeth Beilman joins the newspaper as a staff writer, primarily covering Jeffersonville and Sellersburg.
Beilman has bachelor’s degrees in journalism and English literature from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green and graduated summa cum laude from the Honors College.
She was a copy editor and reporter for Western Kentucky’s College Heights Herald and a writing editor for the school’s yearbook, the Talisman.
The Louisville native also did an internship in 2012 for The News-Enterprise in Elizabethtown, Ky.
Tyler Stewart has been hired as a staff photographer for the News and Tribune.
Stewart, a New Albany native, attended Ball State University with a major in photojournalism and a background in graphic design.
He has completed internships at Nashville Lifestyles Magazine and The Star Press (Muncie).
He was photo editor at the Ball State Daily News in 2010. He also has regularly photographed area concerts.
