Bill Beck, sports editor at The Elkhart Truth, has been named the Corky Lamm Indiana Sportswriter of the Year by the Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.
The award is given annually by the association and recognizes one of the state’s outstanding sportswriters.
It’s named for Corky Lamm, a four-time Sportswriter of the Year who was a legendary writer and cartoonist with the Indianapolis News.
Beck has served as sports editor for The Truth since 1999. He started full time at the paper in 1984 as a sportswriter.
Beck will receive the award at the 2011 Hall of Fame Banquet on April 16 in Indianapolis.
