If you aren’t concerned about the 2013 legislative session’s effect on newspapers, postal issues, social media’s place in the newsroom, competition for your preprint market, public access issues, digital advertising, independent contractors or centralized services, you may want to stay home.

But if any of these affect your news operation, join your fellow publishers and get some ideas and reassurance Feb. 7-8 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Indianapolis.

Members should now have the HSPA & HSPA Foundation Annual Meetings and Government Conference brochure and registration form. Download a copy by clicking here.

Return the form or register online by clicking here. Attendees may choose one of several payment options: Mail a check, call HSPA with a credit card number, or use Google Checkout (account required).

The Annual Meetings planning committee, led by HSPA Vice President Robyn McCloskey, hopes the addition of a Thursday evening event at Lucas Oil Stadium, a wide variety of round-table discussions with expert leaders and other interesting additions will attract more participants.

Take a tour of Lucas Oil Stadium and see areas usually off limits to the public. Wining and dining will take place in the Quarterback Suite – certainly a unique venue. Bring your walking shoes and casual clothes for this event.

Attendees can earn auction bucks throughout the conference to bid on great prizes at the final luncheon.

Jack Pate, the gregarious publisher of Evansville Courier & Press, will serve as auctioneer – and we need not say more!

Please remember the early-bird registration deadline and the hotel cutoff date are Monday, Jan. 14. You may mail or fax in the registration form or register online by this date, and payment may follow.

For hotel reservations, call (888) 421-1442 or register online by clicking here. Ask for the Hoosier State Press Association 2013 Annual Meeting rate ($145 plus 17 percent tax).
