Indiana paper wins NNA awards

The Ferdinand News received two awards from the National Newspaper Association’s newspaper and advertising contest.

The paper won first place in the Best Feature Story category and tied for third place in the Best Humorous Column category.

The Ferdinand News competed in the nondaily division, which includes papers with circulations of 3,000 to 4,999.

Lists of winners by division and newspaper are available at nnaweb.org. Winners will be recognized Sept. 24 during NNA’s 125th annual convention in Albuquerque, N.M.

Contestants fielded 2,042 entries in the newspaper contest and 397 entries in the advertising contest.

The association awarded 631 awards to 143 member newspapers in 40 states.
