Indiana’s newspapers are looking for a dynamic leader to replace the retiring executive director of our statewide association. This is a full-time position, answering to a board of directors. The successful candidate will: lead lobbying efforts and government relations with the Indiana General Assembly and state government units; provide or facilitate legal advice specifically regarding statutes associated with newspapers; provide and direct (via managing the association staff) other membership services such as advertisement placement, training seminars, awards programs and meetings. Additionally, the candidate will have or will gain an understanding of the newspaper business and provide leadership as the industry adapts to the changing world. While a law degree is preferred, it is not required.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with the retiring executive at least through the coming legislative session. Competitive salary and benefits.
