The Rushville Republican will be delivered via the U.S. Postal Service beginning Aug. 2.
Laura Welborn, publisher of the Rushville Republican, Greensburg Daily News and Batesville Herald-Tribune, said the move makes good business sense.
“Over the past several years, many newspapers have been challenged with the rising cost of delivering the newspaper and maintaining a carrier force,” Welborn said. “With our new partnership with local postmasters, readers will continue to receive same-day delivery of the paper.”
The move was a hard decision but makes good business sense and enables each newspaper to hold subscription rates, Welborn said.
“We would like to thank all of our carriers for their years of dedicated service,” she said.
Some routes may be converted throughout the month as carrier routes open.
