Q&A: City insurance information

From the Chronicle-Tribune (Marion):

Q: The newspaper wants to check who receives insurance coverage from the city. Is this information we should be able to obtain?

A: Citizens should be able to determine who is included under the city’s insurance policy, which is paid through tax dollars. There should be a document that lists those covered, probably with a premium amount designated for each one.

You might check with a local insurance agent to determine whether that document has a specific title so that your request for records is clear.
