Randall Shields, vice president of commercial printing for HNE Printers, announced he will retire at the end of the year.
Shields has been employed with Home News Enterprises for almost 18 years.
He was hired as publisher of the Daily Reporter (Greenfield) and overseer of the company’s Greenfield printing operation.
During his tenure at the Reporter he expanded the newspaper’s Hancock County footprint with the start of two weeklies and the assimilation of the The Times-Post (Pendleton).
In his role as vice president of commercial printing, he has overseen HNE Printing facilities in Columbus and Greenfield, growing both operations with daily and weekly newspaper printing work.
Shields served on the HSPA Board of Directors from 2012-2014.
Larry Ham, general manager for HNE Printing, will assume the balance of Shields’ management responsibilities.
Shields will work with Ham over the next six months in the transition and will continue with his sales and customer relationship functions until year end.
