Highlights in this issue:

• If you publish public notice advertisements, HSPA’s efforts to preserve public notices in print will be welcomed news. Publishers are asked to add a short code to their public notices as part of an upgrade to www.IndianaPublicNotices.com.

 • Sarah O. Wilson, owner and publisher of the Rochester Sentinel, and Randall Shields, vice president for HNE Printing, visited the U.S. Capitol as part of a contingent of newspaper executives from around the country who lobbied for six-day mail delivery.

 • A 2012 survey conducted in small U.S. towns and cities by the research arm of the University of Missouri School of Journalism for the National Newspaper Association found that 71 percent of respondents read a community newspaper at least once a week.

 • The HSPA Foundation will send another 10 Eugene S. Pulliam interns to Indiana newspapers for the summer.
