Publishers, newspaper executives and advertising personnel gathered for HSPA’s Annual Conference Sept. 17-18 at The Alexander Hotel in Indianapolis.
The event included nationally recognized trainers, a golf outing, advertising awards gala and other learning and networking opportunities.
During the awards luncheon, HSPA awarded its Distinguished Service Award to Mike Fender, a former Indianapolis Star director of photography.
Receiving Frank O’Bannon Sunshine Awards were Griffith Police Chief Greg Mance and Gail Pebworth of the League of Women Voters of Indiana.
Top prize in the HSPA Foundation golf outing went to the foursome from The Corydon Democrat.
The outing’s coveted Freedom Cannon was awarded to Team South for the fourth consecutive year in the North vs. South Golf Challenge.
