A former reporter returned to the Sullivan Daily Times as editor.
Andrew Krull worked as a Times news reporter in the early 1990s.
In the two decades since, he continued his journalistic career, graduated from law school, practiced as an attorney, and involved himself in the field of developmental disabilities.
Krull, 46, assumed the editor position Feb. 17.
Krull has a familial connection to the community. His mother was a graduate of Sullivan High School, while his grandfather was a longtime Sullivan High teacher.
Krull said a highlight of his three-year Times’ tenure was interviewing the last nine county World War I veterans.
Growing up in Franklin, Krull graduated from Indiana University in 1990, majoring in journalism and political science.
Following his stint at the Times, he was news editor for two years at the Princeton Daily Clarion.
Changing gears, Krull graduated from IU School of Law, Indianapolis, in 1997, specializing in poverty law for about 12 years.
Krull has also been an Indiana Legal Services director of a homeless project for five years in Indianapolis and Evansville and served on the Indiana Public Defender Council for seven years. He has also been involved in the area of developmental disabilities on and off for about 20 years.
His brother, John Krull, is the director of the Franklin College Pulliam School of Journalism. He also has a sister living in New York.
