Poll watchers need official cards

If your newspaper intends to have watchers officially observing the election at various precincts, contact your county clerk about obtaining poll watcher cards.

You may have one watcher per precinct, and each needs an official card.

If your watchers are not newspaper employees, give a list of those individuals’ names to the county clerk, county election board, county political chairmen and chairman of an independent candidate’s committee by May 5. A list of names isn’t necessary if you’re using newspaper employees.

Poll watchers can photograph the precinct election boards at work during the election. For other rights of poll workers, see IC 3-6-10-5.5.
