A former Gannett newspaper manager has been named the new president and publisher of the South Bend Tribune.

Kim Wilson will replace David Ray, who retired in April after 11 years as publisher.

Wilson, 41, was president and publisher of the Fort Collins Coloradoan and Gannett’s Colorado Media Group for more than two years before leaving that position in December.

She spent her 20-year career with Gannett newspapers in places such as Louisville, Ky.; Huntington, W.Va.; and Pensacola, Fla.

Wilson grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from Penn State University with a degree in advertising. She has a 3-year-old son, Donavan.

She will begin working at the Tribune June 1.

She is the first female publisher at the newspaper in its 139-year history.
