Indianapolis

The Indiana Pro Chapter of SPJ and the Indiana Coalition for Open Government are sponsoring a program on handling denials of Freedom of Information requests at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at the Nora branch library, 8625 Guilford Ave., Indianapolis. ICOG President Gerry Lanosga will outline a report he prepared on Indiana’s FOI laws. He’ll join panelists Tim Evans of The Indianapolis Star, Kara Kenney of WRTV and attorney Dan Byron, an ICOG board member who has represented WISH-TV, for discussion and Q&A.

Muncie

A Ball State University professionals-in-residence event is Wednesday, March 13, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Letterman Building Room 125 on the Muncie campus. Speakers will include WTHR-TV reporter Bob Segall, who spent two years investigating the questionable success rate of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, and The Indianapolis Star’s John Russell, who also has been probing the Economic Development Corporation.
