Highlights in this issue:
• A bill allowing school districts to stop publishing their annual financial reports in local newspapers passed the Indiana House 66-30. HSPA is working to oppose that bill and another that would criminalize the distribution of photos or videos of farm and industry operations without an owner’s consent.
• The Newsroom Seminar and Better Newspaper Contest Rules Committee has adjusted editorial contest divisions based on new circulation figures.
• Will the Indiana Supreme Court take a case that would clarify “reasonable particularity” regarding requests for public records? HSPA hopes so.
