A U.S. Marine Corps veteran is the newest member of The Connersville News-Examiner editorial staff.
Derrick Holdridge will cover local schools, police, fire and emergency response and some local government organizations.
The 27-year-old spent four years (2003 to 2007) in the Marines, serving two tours in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan.
Afterward, he attended IU Southeast in New Albany and earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and an associate degree in communications.
Holdridge, originally from Windham, N.Y., recently moved to the area from Jeffersonville with his fiancée, Leslie Kaufer. The two are planning a September wedding.
