Fall circulation training returns in Indiana with a new one-day workshop format.

Steve Wagenlander, one of the industry’s top circulation speakers & NAA’s 2010 Circulation Executive of the Year, will present the day-long, highly interactive workshop that covers methods to increase revenue, grow audience, explore delivery partnerships and improve customer service.

To allow more HSPA members to participate, both ICEA and the HSPA Foundation will support the training financially.

This allows the organizations to offer the session at the incredibly low early-bird rate of $15 (including lunch) for those who register by Aug. 24.

Registration is available online by clicking here or via hard copy through a brochure member newspapers will receive.

Many circulators in Indiana will remember Wagenlander, currently director of audience development for The Post and Courier in Charleston, S.C.

Before moving to Charleston in 2001, he worked in the circulation department at The Indianapolis Star and at the Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader for seven years each.

He also serves as a faculty member for Inland Press Foundation Circulation Academy.

Organizers checked with other press associations across the country for names of good circulation trainers, and Wagenlander topped the list, said Karen Braeckel, HSPA Foundation director.

“We’re pleased he agreed to come back to the heartland to share his experience with our members,” Braeckel said. “Those of us who know him look forward to his high-energy, motivating presentation.”

Wagenlander says he will share 25 ideas to grow volume or revenue and wants every attendee to walk away with enough new ideas to justify their investment of time.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. (EDT) on Sept. 21, and the training starts at 10 a.m.

The session will wrap up by 3:30 p.m.

With these hours attendees have time to travel and miss rush-hour traffic.
